French Apple Pie at Sugarhouse

I've been craving for an apple pie for more than a year now and the apple pie that is sold at the foodcourt at Glorietta seem too little and expensive for me.

So one time (this was last Friday), when Brix and I were strolling at ATC after a satisfying dinner at Omakase, I was craving for some good "sweets", you know, not just flour and sugar. And that time I was reaaally thinking of a slice of a home-made apple pie.

We passed by Sugarhouse because I've seen that pie available at that store. We first went to CBTL but I was having some second thoughts. When we were at Sugarhouse I thought we were just going to be served the usual apple pie with plate and fork but --- oh goshhh -

an APPLE PIE WITH CHEESE AND CREAM?!?! I couldn't believe it!

So, of course, even when our stomachs were full we were still able to appreciate the goodness of that piece of pie. The best thing about it? The combination of a bit salty cheese, the slightly sweet whipped cream, the cinnamon, and the soft at the outside-crunchy on the inside apples that make up the apple pie.

... yum.

And of course, once is not enough, so off we went to Glorietta two days ago to look for the Sugarhouse shop there and this time, I didn't forget to take a pic.

look, look, look at it! hee-yummy (^^p)
And as Brix told me, a French apple pie really has cheese and cream, so I guess one way or the other, I've tasted a good one. :)

BulBop

The branches that I have tried (and the only branches I know so far) were the ones at the foodcourt of in SM Southmall and Festival Mall.
For me it's not just an ordinary fast food, as they serve FRESH vegetables, fresh donjeon, the freshest kimchi (I think it's homemade), just the freshest food.
When I go to the mall, I would usually see fastfood shops that have a menu that are either filled with fats or their food is usually fried. (yulk...)

Now when I have found out about this Korean fastfood shop, what amazed me was that the food are not just served on a plate. But instead, they are served on a dolsot (in Korea it means "stone bowl"), which keeps the food hot for quite sometime. And for me who is sort of I-want-my-food-kept-hot-all-the-time kind of person, this stone (or ceramic) bowl adds the yumminess of the food.

Well, I usually, if not all the time, eat their Bibimbap.

Wow. I've always loved the combination of those different and colourful vegetables that's topped on a cup of steamed rice, then on top of those veggies, there's a fried sunny side up egg, you mix 'em all together and --- voila! You'd feel like you've got some home-cooked meal, sans the sort of noisy environment that you'll be at coz it's at the food court. ;P Nevertheless, it's healthy, and you can even ask them to make it spicy or spicier for you. I like my Bibimbap spicy as it all the more brings out the flavor of my food.

So all for 79pesos you get that dolsot-yummy-good-healthy Bibimbap. And then for additional 10pesos you can additionally get their side dish that consists of donjeon, kimchi, and macaroni (or sometimes it's fruit salad). Side dish is just enough to compliment the main meal.

I soooo looooove this fastfood stop!

Omuraisu - Quiche's Home-made Version

I've always loved Japanese food, and yesterday I thought of the word Omu-rice and told myself, maybe I could try cooking it myself.

I know for a fact that Japanese food is kind of hard to make because of one's need for detail and it's necessity for fresh, and unique, ingredients.

However, when I saw the ingredients of omuraisu, they're easy to get and the recipe itself was easy to prepare, they are not so veggie-packed tho...

But my family loooooved it.

See the pics?! Yummy!!!

And this is the Omuraisu aftermath - *big grin* ;p

How did I make my Omuraisu?

Ingredients:
2 tbsp butter
1/2 kilo de-boned chicken, cut into small pieces
1 small can Libby's sausages
3-4 tbsp tomato ketchup
salt to taste

For the egg:
1 1/2 tbsp butter (i like the egg buttery)
3 pcs eggs
salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions:
1. Melt butter in the pan.
2. Saute/fry (prituhin) the cubed chicken, stir fry continuously)
3. When the chicken is cooked (looks brown on some sides due to stir fying), add the sausages.
4. When the sausages are already cooked, put the rice as well (i really don't know the "cooking wording" but I'm pretty much sure you know what I'm talking about ^_^)
5. Stir fry the rice with the chicken and sausages.
6. When the rice is fried, add the ketchup, and maybe depending upon your taste, shed some salt. Stir fry it again - we don't want sloppy rice, we want the ketchup flavoring the rice, not sloppying it. :)
7. Once the ketchup has fully covered the rice. Transfer it to a bowl.

Cooking the egg (this will be put on top of the rice):
1. Beat the 3 eggs, add salt and pepper. (I like this particular egg in my omuraisu sort of peppery, so i put a little more than usual amount of pepper)
2. Melt the butter.
3. Pour the egg mixture on the pan and make an omelette that is slightly runny in the middle.
4. As soon as it's done, top the omelette onto the rice. You may somehow nicely and carefully cut the omelette in the middle.
5. Put some ketchup on a spoon, then make a zigzag sort of "design" on top of the eggs. ^_^

Eat Well!

Saturday

Yes, it's a Saturday. So... I'm gonna give myself a break.

This is the post that I have. Yes, this is it.

I thank you.

***

Har har har...

C'mon, let me give myself a break. It's been - what - more than a week now that I am trying to keep up with the things that are going around me. I am not that type of person, you know. I used to be a person who keeps things to herself. Silent. More than silent, sometimes. Well, silent in regards to myself. But anyhoo, I'm starting to be talkative now, talking about myself. Trying to do one post per day... At least. Then maybe, if my fingers type faster I could try making two entries per day at least.
As for the "pumping" exercise and the twist abs exercise... Can I just start that on Monday?

Another har de har har.

Naiwan ko yung isang blog ko kahapon...

Opo mga kaibigan, totoo nga. Hindi ako nakapag-blog kahapon. Well, meron kasi akong ginagawa kahapon na blog, yun yung franchise franchise. I'm still keeping my count. Ano ba ang nasa isip ko? Trabaho? Yung kakainin ko mamayang gabi? Yung gagawin ko next week? Yung plano ko next year? Hahahaha.
Ganun pala kapag nagsasarili, lahat talaga sarili mo. Tubig, ilaw, gamit, pagkain. Shempre pati bahay sayo. Grabeh ang demands, pero ok naman at this is something that makes me feel fulfilled and happy. Pero shempre, if she's kind to us and all, baka i-waive na namin yung fee nya. Sabi sakin Sunday last week pa sha darating, then I heard that she had to go somewhere at hindi man lang ako aabisuhan!

Para sakin ngayon I just have to wait for the new yaya for Yoshua.

Now, if there is one thing na naiisip ko at dapat kong i-commit sa sarili ko, yun yung NEVER EVER na akong male-late sa pagpasok ng opisina. There are a lot in store for me.

Yung pumpings? Well, nag gym ako kagabi so I think exempted yun. Hehe.
Pero mamaya gagawin ko yun.
Abangan bukas.

=D

Looking for a Franchising Business for a VERY LOW PRICE?

A lot of people venture into franchising. It's easier to venture into it because the IDEA is already there and all the franchisers need to do is to have enough capital and to appropriately "manage" the business and they will definitely be able to incur profits.
While trying to open a business is actually much harder, in a way. All the necessary business permits, the advertisement, the production, the auditing, the conceptualization, and among others should come from the business owner.

I have found some new and very affordable franchising business that one may want to venture into, like Shawarma, Dimsum, Waffles, and Pizza.

The franchise is a very good deal, the food's taste is great, and money-wise, it's very much affordable both on the franchisee and the consumer.

I have found out, through constant observation and obvious reactions, that Filipinos in general likes to purchase in retail amounts. They don't like purchasing in bulk or in big packages. Filipinos are in the impression that if they purchase something for a very small price, it's saving them money. Do you see the constant news when newscasters are saying that manufacturing companies nowadays tend to produce the retail containers? It's because for the Filipinos, it's affordable.

But really it doesn't really mean practical.

How am I going to use that information to merge it with the idea of the franchising business that's shown uP^ there?

For one, the products offered to the consumers by those business are in retail. Meaning, the price is more attractive to the buyers because it's cheap. You know those dimsum stands, waffle, and those stands that offer food for about 15-35 pesos? Why do they survive inside the mall? It's because the cheaper the price, the more they sell. Chinese thinking, di ba? Tubong lugaw.

Here's the thing about those available franchises that were mentioned...
You won't just get what you've asked.
You'll get more.

Wanna know what those are?

Cocorama - Dance while your mouth is full of Pancakes!

It was a cold and windy Sunday afternoon.

After my part time work (ok it there such a part-time work that you do for 8 bloody hours? ^_^ well... ) Brix, my boyfriend, and I went to Shangri-la because I'm craving for a fluffy and moist and warm --- well --- pancakes! Yup. That's right. This was the best pancake I've ever tasted in my entire life here in Manila. And where do these moist and fluffy (I mean it! moist and fluffy!) pancakes could come from? --- Cocorama! Located just in front of the tickets booth at Shang. Well, what my lurvy and I usually do is we try walking past Cocorama, try the new flavors that they offer (blueberry, banana-walnut, pineapple, cherry) then when both of us cannot take it anymore we jump right on one of the tables, get the menu and order a generous amount of these Cocorama pancakes!

Do you see? Do you see that oozing mix of banana, caramel, and walnuts? Imagine those combining with the fluffy, moist, yummy taste of pancake all packed inside in your mouth and all the different flavors that it produces. Wooow. Heaven.

And that 4 pc pancake (well, aside from the service charge) only costs PhP185.00. (Libre tap water - hehe)

Should I wish to carbo-load again, I wouldn't think twice on these yum, yum, yummy pancakes. ^_^
